To open a Ukranian cafe which we want to become a welcoming social hub and workplace for Ukrainians, living in Sheffield fleeing the war.
We made our target and we are so so thankful. Every penny has been allocated into the project and we cannot wait to open our doors to you all.
We have decided to add a last minute voucher. This is to offer free breakfast or lunch to our our Ukrainian customers only. We will top up the bill so they won’t pay a thing.
This is Anastasia, a Ukrainian artist who has been living in Sheffield for just over a month. Anastasia is doing our sign work and will be working part time in the cafe alongside her partner. Your donations and pledges are paying her fee’s for her artwork. We can’t thank you enough for everyone who has donated so far.
We are opening a Ukrainian community cafe on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield.
Our aim is to provide work for Ukrainians who have moved to Sheffield fleeing the war. We will provide employment, offer support in friendly social setting which can offer training, improving or learning of their English language in a safe setting. All directors are and are in the process of being DBS checked and a Manager will be at both sights to over see the day to day running and ensure safety and safe guard issues are always followed and present.
Cafe Kalyna will be serving authentic Ukrainian food and drinks which will bring familiarities for our guests and a new cuisine to Sheffield, which has a high number of families hosting which we are very proud of.
We are setting up the social enterprise to enable refugees find employment which could be a stepping stone to their next role, gain experience or improve/ learn their English while settling into Sheffield.
It will be a welcoming hub serving traditional Ukranian food in a friendly, welcoming environment. There will be artwork for sale created by Ukrainian artists, regular fundraising events will be arranged with all funds going back into either the Ukrainian Red Cross Humanitarian Scheme or into local Ukrainian charities for refugees.

We need the funds for-
•Signage, we have been quoted £1000 for the main shop front sign, menu boards inside and outside and logo designed and created by a Ukranian artist.
• Running costs; we need money for the rent, staff ( three full time) and stock for the first month to help us get up and running.
Your donations which will be thankfully received can be redeemed (once we are up and running so please watch this space) and keep in touch / follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
Any amount you give will be greatly appreciated, if you enjoy or have never tried Ukrainian food before, you can donate now and visit us soon to experience authentic Ukrainian food in our new venture that you have helped set up.
