Direct support for Ukrainian refugees from the border in Dorohusk/Chełm to Poland.

 New stretch target

We would be able to support more Ukrainian refugees with food, travel and warm clothes. Maybe even a nights accommodation in a hostel. Any extra mony would be donated to DEC or UNICEF.

We (Tim and Henry) are going to Poland on 11th March to help assist with the ongoing refugee crisis resulting from the invasion of the Ukraine.

Our plan is to fly to Warsaw, collect a people carrier then drive to the Polish/Ukrainian border. We will then be transporting Ukrainian refugees to wherever they need to go in Poland. We will do this non stop for a week until 18th March. Only stopping for a few hours sleep when we can.

Our overall aim is to help as many people as possible get to the safety of their friends and families in Poland. We will be supplying them with food and drink, warm blankets and moral support on their journey, as well as accommodation and onward support if required. This whole process will be done at our own expense, although we are setting up a crowdfunding page to assist with the cost.

We are not a charity or business, just two people who are taking unpaid time off work and are desperate to help out in this awful situation.  I am a self employed father of two small children, I build furniture from reclaimed wood. Henry works for a large charity. The situation in Eastern Europe has deeply affected us  and we wish to do our part to help.

The money raised would be used to buy:

Fuel to transport the refugees

Hire of the people carrier (car)

Food and drink for refugees

Blankets for the refugees

Colouring books and pencils for the children

Sanitary items, babies nappies etc.

Support with any immediate further assistance required, such as accommodation or onward transportation

Any left over money would be donated to the

RED CROSS - DEC UKRAINE HUMANITARIAN APPEAL

We have thought very hard about this and we feel that it is the right thing to do.

I look forward to hearing from you, many thanks. Tim and Henry
