Aim
To plant, protect and promote urban trees, for all, by all!
Trees for Cities is the only national charity dedicated to improving lives by planting, protecting and promoting urban trees. With over 84% of us in the UK living in towns and cities, urban trees are vital to community health and tackling climate change. Yet, there is an imbalance in tree cover and access to nature across our communities, reflecting wider social and economic inequalities. We are striving to change this. Our work focuses on enhancing resilience to climate change through nature-based solutions such as increasing species-rich urban woodland and tree canopy cover to provide; more habitat for wildlife, ecosystem services, and creating greener and healthier towns where people can thrive. For over 30 years, and across the UK, we’ve enabled systemic change by empowering people to take positive action for nature by planting trees and providing our beneficiaries the opportunity to experience the physical, mental and social benefits of urban trees.
With BA’s support we’re planting, protecting and promoting urban trees in London (very close to Heathrow Airport), Glasgow, Cardiff, Newcastle and Brighton in the upcoming planting season which runs from October 2025 - March 2026.
