Ugly Sisters is piss / CARNATION’s unrequited love story between Germaine Greer and her transgender superfan. Supported by the UNTAPPED award, Fringe 2024 has the potential to be a turning point in our careers. Our show 52 Monologues for Young Transsexuals debuted at Fringe 2023 to critical acclaim [“intimate yet expansive” (****Guardian) and “genuinely groundbreaking” (*****ToDoList)]. We won the EdfringeOFFfest award in the LGBTQ+ category and transferred to Soho Theatre. This year’s Fringe is critical for us to build on this momentum to further grow our reputation as a company and networks.
Despite being partly funded this year, we are still falling short financially. We have raised over 80% of our budget for the production, through various awards and fundraising activities. However, in order for all production costs to be met, we still need to raise £2000. We are now asking for your support. By donating even the smallest amount, you would be contributing to ensuring that every person working on this project is paid fairly.
