Help Ugandan Youth Attend World Rugby in Abu Dhabi

Aim
To enable four invited youth to attend the World Schools Rugby Championship in Abu Dhabi this year.
The Abu Dhabi World Schools Festival 2025 is a prestigious global sporting event scheduled to take place from December 14 to December 20, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub. The festival features competitive matches in multiple sports including rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, and football, bringing together top schools from around the world to showcase young athletic talent and sportsmanship on an international stage.
The purpose of the festival is to create a world-class sporting environment where young athletes can compete, learn, and build friendships across cultures. It promotes exposure to high standards of sports, fostering development, camaraderie, and lifelong connections among the participants.
For Chrysalis Seconday School and Uganda Uganda Schools Rugby Association (USRA), presenting a national schools select rugby team at the festival offers significant benefits. The team gains international exposure and experience competing against elite school teams from rugby powerhouses such as England, South Africa, and New Zealand, which can tremendously enhance players' skills and tactical understanding. Additionally, it provides a platform for Uganda's rugby talent to be noticed globally, encouraging growth and development of rugby in Uganda. Participation also helps build international relationships and raises the profile of Ugandan school rugby on a world stage, which can open doors for future collaborations and sponsorship opportunities.
Chrysalis Rugby Team has attended Regional and National Rugby events a number of times during 2025, emerging victorious twice, in both 15s and 7s for the Northern Region. And it was as a result of the National Schools Championships, that three of our players were selected to take part in the World Schools Rugby event in Abu Dhabi.
Part of the costs of travelling to Abu Dhabi will be borne by the Ugandan Schools Rugby Association, but we need $1200 for each traveller, though this will cover flights, accommodation and travel within Abu Dhabi, as well as some tourism visits.
We plan to take the three players, a rugby coach and a chaperoning adult to the event, so that is why we need $6000. All other costs will be borne by Chrysalis.
