Aim
Turkey is burning since the 28th July! There are more than 100 active fires and we need your help more than ever.
Between the 28th July and 2nd August, the fires that started in nearly 30 different locations in Turkey, have killed 8 people and thousands of animals, destroyed many houses, barns, agricultural lands, greenhouses and 141,000 hectares of forests. The fire is still ongoing in various regions in the Mediterranean cost of Turkey.
As a group of employees of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), we have started a community initiative project to support the livelihoods of the population as well as the rehabilitation of the ecosystem in the areas severely affected by the recent wildfires in Turkey.
The EBRD Community Initiative Committee is fully supportive of our cause and to double our impact, will match all donations raised from EBRD employees as well as those received externally.
The funds will be used depending on the needs assessment which will be conducted by the AFET Platformu (Disaster Platform), which is composed of various reputable civil society organisations and local municipalities. This will ensure that donations are used for priority needs and can create sustainable impact wherever possible. The use of fund and their impact will be monitored by the EBRD CI committee and the staff involved in the project.

Türkiye'de 28 Temmuz'da Antalya'nın Manavgat ilçesinde başlayan ve ardından en az 30 farklı ilde çıkan yangınlar bazı noktalarda ne yazık ki kontrol altına alınamadı ve günlerdir devam ediyor.
28 Temmuz ve 2 Ağustos tarihleri arasında yangınlarda hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı 8'e yükseldi, binlerce hayvan yanarak öldü ve telef oldu, bölgelerdeki evler, ahırlar, seralar ve yaklaşık 141,000 hektarlık alan küle dönüştü.
Türkiye’deki yangınlardan etkilenen insanlara ve ekosisteme etkinin rehabilitasyonu için EBRD (Avrupa İmar ve Kalkınma Bankası) çalışanları olarak bir kampanya başlatıyoruz. Gerek kurum çalışanları gerek dışardan vatandaşların katkıları ile oluşacak fon kadar EBRD de bu kampanyaya eş fon sağlayacaktır. Toplanan bağışlar, STKlar ve yerel yönetimlerden oluşan Afet Platformunun yapacağı ihtiyaç analizine göre en doğru ve sürdürülebilir etkiler yaratacak alanlar için kullanılacak ve etkileri denetlenecektir. Özetle tüm bağlantılarımın bu kampanyaya destek olmasını rica ediyorum. Unutmayın vereceğiniz her 1 lira EBRD katkısıyla 2’ye katlanacaktır. Şimdi birlik olma zamanı!
