Aim

Our aim is to develop a walking path around the club facilities for the local community thus helping to improve their health and wellbeing!

Who are we?

We are Tullyvallen Rangers Football Club, a long established voluntary sports club founded in the 1986 and based in Newtownhamilton, County Armagh.  We're proud to offer football to the rural community in South Armagh.  We provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities from age 5 through to senior players.

We believe that we are not just a football club but a community hub that is a cornerstone for the local community to encourage community engagement, physical activity, personal development and wellbeing.  Through football, we bring people together and create inclusive, supportive environments for everyone to thrive.

Our teams and programmes are run entirely by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the local people.  Without these volunteers the club would not survive and cease to exist.

Over our 38+ years of existence we have continuously tried to develop the club on and off the pitch in a way that is committed to building a healthier, more connected Tullyvallen.  We see this walking path as the next step in our journey.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We're launching Tullyvallen Rangers Football Club's walking path project as we believe the development of a walking path would be of great benefit to the local community and help the people within this rural community both physically and mentally.

Within the surrounding areas there are no such facilities available to the local people and we believe that this walking path would help to ensure that Tullyvallen Rangers FC is not only a football club but a cornerstone to the local community as a whole in helping to improve their health and wellbeing.

Furthermore we feel that the walking path would help to reduce the risk of road safety incidents within the local area especially during the dark winter months when the local people could use the enclosed facility free of charge instead of walking the roads.

With your support and funding from Sport NI we believe that the time is right to make this a reality.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Every penny we raise will go directly towards the development of the walking path at the club facilities through our Olympic Legacy Fund project.

The path will be around the outside of the grass pitch perimeter fencing. Here are some pictures of where the walking path will be -

  • Providing piped stoned drain along bottom of bank to one side of pitch
  • Providing cable duct around path for lights

Community impact

Tullyvallen Rangers Football Club is more than just a football club - it is a vital part of the local community that brings people together, promotes wellbeing, and creates opportunities for personal growth.  Through sport we help to reduce social isolation, improve mental and physical health and build stronger community connections.

Our walking path project will help to attract more people to the club facilities and show that we are much more than just a football club.  By providing this to the local community we believe it will benefit everyone in the local area and further afield.  We can see walking groups developing from it, especially during the hard, dark winter months.  We can see parents of children who attend the youth team taking full advantage of it while they wait until training/matches are complete.

Beyond football, our facilities are used on a weekly basis for other sporting activities.  Tullyvallen hockey club has developed as a result of the facilities that we have and it continues to go from strength to strength.  There are weekly fitness classes that take place in the clubhouse as well as Pilates classes.  There has previously been a darts team that based themselves in our facility.

Away from sport our facility is regularly used for social events such as birthday parties, family gatherings etc further highlighting the demand for such facilities.

By supporting this project, you're not just helping people play football - you're helping the local community to become healthier and more connected.  Our club is powered by volunteers and driven by a passion to make a lasting difference.  We see the facility as a community hub for the local area and the development of a walking path would only increase the value of this hub and with your help, we can make this a reality.
