Aim

Tulach Óg Winter 2026/27 “Give it a Go & Fitness Programme” Help us keep young people active, confident, and connected this winter

Who are we?

Cumann Uí Néill, Tulach Óg is a hurling and camogie club formed in December 2016 and its aim is to provide the opportunity for everyone in the greater Cookstown area to play both sports, from youth up to adulthood.

Tulach Óg was established for the catchment area of Holy Trinity College, namely the parishes of Kildress, Cookstown and Ardboe, which include the Gaelic Football clubs of Kildress, Rock, Cookstown, Ardboe and Moortown.

Tulach Óg club is based at Mid Ulster Sports Arena (MUSA), which is on the adjacent hill and just one mile from the historic Tulach Óg site where the ancient Ó Néill chieftains were crowned.

With inclusivity at the core of everything we do, we are committed to making sure that our Gaelic games and values improve the lives of our members, families, and the communities we serve.

Our goal is for everyone to be able to fully participate in our Gaelic games and culture, feel accepted, grow, and be motivated to continue their lifelong involvement within our Club and the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).

Why are we crowdfunding?

Tulach Óg Hurling & Camogie Club has always been about community, belonging, and giving every child and young person the chance to thrive. Winter months are when participation drops, confidence dips, and opportunities become limited — especially for beginners, girls, and families facing financial barriers.

This year, we want to change that.

We’re launching a Winter Give it a Go & Fitness Programme running  September 2026 to March 2027, offering indoor skills sessions, fun fitness circuits, girls‑only coaching and beginner‑friendly hurling/camogie introductions.

To make this happen, we need your support.

🏑 What We’re Doing

Across 12 weeks, we will deliver:

  • Weekly hurling & camogie skills sessions
  • Fun fitness circuits and agility training
  • Girls‑only coaching sessions led by female coaches
  • Monthly “Give it a Go” beginner days
  • Ball‑wall and running sessions

Community impact

Our club provides more than sport – we are a community for the rural areas of Kildress, Rock, Cookstown, Ardboe and Moortown.  While our primary focus is on youth sport and physical activity, the new programme will have a wider impact beyond participants alone. It will support the health and wellbeing of young people through regular activity, encourage older teenagers into volunteering, leadership and coaching roles, and provide parents and families with a safe, inclusive environment where they feel connected and engaged.

👧👦 Who Will Benefit

This programme will support:

  • Children & young people aged up to 18
  • Beginners trying hurling/camogie for the first time
  • Families & community engagement in rural Mid Ulster
  • Young people who have dropped out of sport and want to re‑engage
