Aim
Sutton Sea Cadets building is now at capacity. This project is to provide essential additional space for cadet training activities.
Sutton Sea Cadets (TS Puma ) building is now at capacity. Since January 2025 the training ship here in the London Borough of Sutton has had a rapid growth in cadets number from 46 to 67. This growth has been sustained through volunteers increasing over the same period from 13 - 25. This project provides essential space for all cadets and enables the unit to deliver a range of learning activities.
We are focused on Amateur Sport, encouraging physical fitness and teamwork through competitive and recreational activities. Our cadets participate in a wide variety of nautical sports and adventure training that challenge them physically and mentally.
We recently established a new Royal Marines Cadet Detachment (RMCD). This has enhanced our offering, providing rigorous land-based tactical training and physical endurance challenges. Whether on the water or on the parade square, our activities promote a healthy, active lifestyle for all participants.
New for 2026 we started a marching band and we about to open as a new District Air Rifle Centre (ARC).
During this time the unit has been recognized with a number of awards such as best Unit Chair in London, a community award from the London Borough of Sutton. Our uniformed staff's dedication though the undertaking of demanding training and skills courses are support by Sea Cadets Corps. The staff have obtained qualifications and ranked up, enabling the unit to delivery a wider programme.
Puma Pals has been established. This is brings our parents and cares into the unit as vetted volunteers to support the delivering of hospitality to guests, current and former cadets resulting in the unit as a place of meaningful, memorable experiences.
