TruVision: Virtual Reality for Architecture
TruVision offers futuristic virtual reality for architecture experiences, allowing you to virtually walk around your new structure or environment prior to its construction. We take models and drawings created by architects and use state of the art technology to create fully immersive architectural visualisations and environments designed to be used with virtual reality headsets.
Experiencing a structure in virtual reality allows you to grasp a sense of scale that a flat architectural blueprint or visualisation simply cannot provide. It also gives the opportunity to spot any issues with the structure before its built, avoiding costly post-build alterations.
As a startup with deep roots in Plymouth, we are keen to get involved with new developments and regeneration projects in the local area. Through creating virtual reality visualisations, the community will be able to accurately envisage upcoming buildings and spaces in and around the city, allowing them to understand the space and how it will benefit the city. We are also hoping to help grow Plymouth as a digital, innovative city by supporting other startups, hosting and appearing at local technology events and offering our services to community projects. We have been piloting the project in Plymouth since June 2015 working closely with Plymouth University.
The team at TruVision is made up of Joe, Connor, Gary and Lewis, 4 Plymouth University graduates aged between 22 and 27, passionate about bringing virtual reality to the architecture industry. When we’re not strapped into an Oculus Rift headset, we spend our time creating pin-point accurate, high quality architectural visualisations. With working backgrounds ranging from web design and business, to 3D modelling and game design we have the ability to drive TruVision forward.
At TruVision, the biggest key to our company is virtual reality and to provide that we need the illusive virtual reality headsets, made by Oculus. These headsets cost in excess of £500 per item and we need at least 4 as a comfortable starting block.
The second part of the money will be spent on becoming a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) provider for the Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA). This will allow us to demonstrate to the 32,000 British Architects around the country and enable us to provide them with quality assured information about the benefits of virtual reality to the construction industry.
Without this funding, TruVision wouldn't be able to become RIBA certified, making it much more difficult to get in front of the UK's accredited architects to educate them on the benefits of provding virtual reality to their clients. We also would struggle to afford enough Oculus Rift headsets which are a fundamental piece of equipment we require to develop our work and deliver it to our clients.
Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated. We have some brilliant rewards to show our huge thanks for your contribution.
Thank you so much for anything you can give.
