Tropical Additions is looking to launch its unique range of superfood powders that inject colour, nutrition and creativity into the kitchen.

TROPICAL ADDITIONS

Tropical Additions was founded in January 2020 with the aim to inject colour, nutrition and creativity into the kitchen using natural superfood powders. Since then, we have worked closely with a nutritionist experimenting with a variety of tropical superfoods to develop five vibrant blends targeting different health angles. 

THE BLENDS

• Flower Power - The nutrient-dense Flower Power blend contains Blue Spirulina, the magical ingredient that gives mermaid lattes that vibrant electric blue colour. Containing natural caffeine, nutrients and antioxidants, why not replace your morning coffee for the ultimate all-natural energy boost. Ingredients: Blue Spirulina, Maca, Guarana, Camu Camu, Coconut Juice Extract, Lucuma. Weight: 150g. Serving: 8g or 1-2 tsp.
• Glow Getter - Overflowing with antioxidants, Glow Getter is designed for healthy-looking skin and hair. Creating delicious bright purple smoothie bowls and juices, make this beauty blend part of your everyday regime. Ingredients: Purple Sweet Potato, Acerola Cherry, Bamboo Silica, Sunflower Seeds, Hibiscus. Weight: 150g. Serving: 8g or 1-2 tsp.
• Mood Food - Containing Pink Pitaya also known as Pink Dragon Fruit, our Mood Food blend creates bright pink smoothies, noodles and cakes. Combining five hand-picked ingredients, this blend helps to naturally balance hormones. Ingredients: Shatavari, Maca, Reishi, Pink Pitaya, Lucuma. Weight: 150g. Serving: 8g or 1-2 tsp.
• Wild & Green - Helping you to get your daily greens and aid digestion, Wild & Green is packed to the brim with micronutrients. Mix it into a morning smoothie with spinach, banana, kiwi and water. Ingredients: Kelp, Barley Grass, Moringa, Chlorella, Alfafa. Weight: 150g. Serving: 8g or 1-2 tsp.
• Fuel Good - With the power to boost the immune system and help fight colds, Fuel Good is bright yellow in colour and can be mixed into juices, smoothies, lattes or baked goods. Ingredients: Orange Peel, Astragalus, Camu Camu, Turmeric, Lucuma. Weight: 150g. Serving: 8g or 1-2 tsp.

All products in the Tropical Additions range are 100% plant-based, vegan, gluten-free and sustainably sourced.

HOW TO USE TROPICAL ADDITIONS

From our energising 'Flower Power' blend to our 'Glow Getter' beauty blend, each one contains carefully chosen superfood powders that can be easily added to at-home recipes to create unicorn-inspired smoothies, mermaid lattes, rainbow-coloured noodles, tasty treats and nice-cream. By incorporating naturally pigmented ingredients such as the Blue Spirulina, Pink Pitaya and Turmeric, our products are the ultimate way to create healthy and natural Instagram-worthy foods.

CHANGING ATTITUDES 

During the development stage of Tropical Additions, COVID-19 hit the world hard, with devastating impacts being felt across communities, including the tragic loss of life and economic disruption. Forcing people around the world to change the way they live their lives, more time was being spent at home, only leaving the house for essential reasons. The pandemic is also said to have changed consumer buying habits with many of us now turning to healthier diets, immune-boosting foods and plant-based products that promote health and wellbeing.

WHAT WILL CROWDFUNDING HELP US ACHIEVE? 

We are looking for your support to help us launch our first range of vibrant superfood powders and sustain a new small business. The funding will allow us to set-up production, create the packaging, build a website, and distribute our products all over the UK. 

Tropical Additions will sell exclusively online to individual customers as well as cafes, coffee shops, and independent stores. The online platform will also share recipe ideas, nutritional information, news, stories and food inspiration.

OUR STORY

Tropical Additions brings together the talents of Hayley Newnham and Samantha Thomas. Sharing a passion for healthy living, Tropical Additions began one sunny morning in Sri Lanka. 

Sitting at our favourite cafe overlooking a popular surf break, we were enjoying ocean-inspired smoothie bowls, pink lattes and fresh juices. Having spent the early part of 2020 here, we quickly became accustomed to starting each day with a delicious breakfast packed with nutrients and colour thanks to the abundance of fresh fruit and superfood powders. 

After doing some research we noticed that there was a lack of similar products available in the UK - we identified a gap in the market. 

Brainstorming ideas, we decided that we wanted to inspire people to have more fun with recipes by using colourful and healthy foods. 

It was decided - Tropical Additions would inject a little piece of paradise into kitchens across the UK.
