Aim

Trig Point Challenge is an app for people who love the outdoors. It offers a range of challenges across England, Scotland and Wales.

Today, consumers are looking for more from their activities.  People are less likely just to go for a walk for the enjoyment but need a purpose, incentive and challenge.

26.2m people regularly participate in outdoor activities. Walking is the most popular activity in the UK and  92% of people take part in the outdoors to relax and de-stress. 70 - 80 % of all outdoor users feeling being active outdoors strengthens family relationships.  This market of walking enthusiasts is currently underrepresented when it comes to the use and integration of digital technology in the outdoors.

We live in a world where reward and recognition are important, sharing our successes and achievements on social media. Consumers now work on a “prove it” mentality where evidence is required to genuinely show what they have achieved.  This has given rise in other sporting arenas to apps such as Strava, Map my Run.

The Trig Point Challenge is an app that encourages people to get out and explore, it provides rewards and recognition for exploring the Great British countryside.  With over 7000 trig points dotted around the British countryside, these provide a great opportunity to explore new places while having the satisfaction of earning badges along the way.

This app offers consumers a way to prove and demonstrate they have been there and done that. It offers local challenges, regional & national challenges and provides a personal record card to capture and log where you have been.  With social sharing capability, you can challenge your family and friends.

The app will provide quick access to local services in the area you are exploring, from pubs and cafes to hotels and campsites.

In the future, we plan to role this app out internationally.
