Trestle Arts Base

Aim: We are raising funds to support Trestle Arts Base and the weekly creative groups run there for over 100 people.

Trestle's Youth Board are raising money to support Trestle Arts Base! Throughout our Summer of Fundraising we'll be pulling out all the stops with everything from running a literal half marathon to our School of Drama participants undertaking their very own marathon task with our 24 Hours of non-stop Drama all to raise money to support the wonderful groups that use our space every week.

Trestle is a mask and physical theatre company with over 40 years of experience. Our mission is to provide creative opportunities for all helping to tackle social isolation, build resilience and confidence, encourage autonomy and engagement in the local community and improve wellbeing. Like many in recent years we have seen huge rises in bills and costs and a decrease in funding opportunities to help us to keep these groups running. We need your help to enable us to keep providing for our community.

In a year we run 90 sessions for adults with multiple needs and 144 sessions for young people aged 4-18. We are focused on creating a creative and safe environment that is informed by the groups and provides opportunities for growth as well as support. Over 85% of community group participants, on check in and check out, state that the session has improved their mood and our School of Drama has been described as inspiring, comforting, fun, welcoming and the one place some of our young people feel comfortable other than their home.

  Your support would help us to
• Fund and support the building, i.e. lighting, heating and other utilities. You would be keeping it a comfortable and accessible space for everyone.
• Upgrade our spaces like help getting new theatre chairs to improve the theatre experience.
• Fund bursaries for our classes to ensure creativity is accessible to everyone.
• Allow us to invest in props and costumes to elevate shows. 
• Expand our resources for our many workshops and educational work.
