Project Update!

Thanks to everyone who has already helped and supported our project, as a club and community we are truly greateful and overwhelmed. The full project cost is over double the amount of our initial target but we wanted to be realistic on what we could raise, after this initial success we have made the decision to push on and try to raise all the funds our self rather than looking for alternative support to complete our project. So we hope in the near future we are able to hit this and fully fund our community stand project.

Who are we?

Treherbert Boys and Girls are raising funds to put a brand new 100 seated stand to provide a community asset for the football club and wider community use.

The club was founded in 1935 and today we are a proud football club that is run totally by volunteers. We have teams spanning across all age groups from U6s right through to our senior team. We were also very proud this year to field our first all girls football team which has been a great success. We are constantly growing as a club and this would be a great milestone to reach to show how far we have come as a club.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We have a great 3G facility in our community at the Baglan which we can proudly call our home field. But for many years now there is one thing we have lacked on there is a stand, this would be greatly used throughout the season by parents and specators through out all our age groups. The field is also used by the wider community and this facility would be avaliable for everyone in the community and everyone that is welcomed at the field. This would give people the chance to watch their children, friends or anyone else without getting battered by the gorgeous South Wales weather. This would also be a massive asset for our club and as said a milestone to show the growth we have achieved over the years. This would also allow us the opportunity to to progress further as a club as our home field will then be eligible for tier 3 football in Wales, this would be huge for us as a club and help us grow and ensure that sustainability as a club is there for many years to serve our community. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

We certainly promise that all the money raised will be used to fund the construction of our brand new stand on the Baglan field, the image below shows the type of stand we hope to get on the field but obviously more personalised to our club. 

Community impact

Our ever increasing numbers of players and families means a stand like this on our home field would be greatly used all year around. We really want to provide this to benefit every person that comes to visit the field and for it to be there for all of our local community to benefit from.

Not only is our field used by Treherbert Boys and Girls club, but is used by many other sports teams throughout our wider community and in all different disciplines of sport, it is also used by many local schools for sporting events as well.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
