My name is Laura and I have just launched #TreatTheNHS.
The money donated to #TreatTheNHS will be used to purchase vouchers from businesses that provide services such as hairdressing and beauty treatments. The vouchers will be distributed to NHS staff who can use them to have a treatment such as a haircut or beautician appointment.
Vouchers will initially be given to hospitals in Kent such as Maidstone and Pembury and distributed to staff who work there. However, if this project receives enough support and funding, it will be used to benefit NHS staff throughout the UK.
NHS staff are working tirelessly to look after patients in the UK during this exceptionally challenging time and are risking their own lives to do so. This project will provide them with the opportunity, once the current lockdown is lifted and businesses reopen, to have a well-deserved "treat" such as a haircut or beauty treatment.
I believe this project has great potential and would be hugely appreciated by and beneficial to many NHS staff, improving their well-being and brightening their day.
The idea is also to source the services from small businesses and to help them recover once they reopen.
