Aim

To purchase Negative Pressure Wound Therapy consumables to physically treat and rehabilitate civilians and ex soldiers from traumatic wounds

⁉️ How does our funding of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy work for a person with severe trauma injury? ⁉️

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) — also called wound VAC or vacuum therapy — is a treatment that helps wounds heal faster by gently sucking out bad stuff and encouraging good healing.

Simple explanation of how it works;

A special foam dressing is placed in or over the wound, then sealed with a clear film. A small pump connects to it and creates gentle suction (like a vacuum).

This suction does a few key things:

▶️ Pulls out extra fluid, swelling, and bacteria (cleans the wound and reduces infection risk).

▶️ Draws the wound edges closer together (makes the wound smaller faster).

▶️ Stimulates new tissue growth (creates healthy pink granulation tissue and new blood vessels).

▶️ Keeps the wound moist and protected (ideal healing environment).

Think of it like a gentle vacuum cleaner for the wound — it removes what’s slowing healing and actively helps the body rebuild. It’s especially useful for deep, slow-healing, or trauma wounds (common in conflict zones like Ukraine).

💙We use it to support trauma recovery because it speeds up closure and lowers complications. 💛
