Aim

We aim to fundraise for a minivan (£3-5k), fill it with essential supplies & drive it to Ukraine, then ferry refugees to the Polish border.

We aim to raise enough funds to purchase a minivan, fill it with canned and non-perishable goods and drive it to Ukraine. Once there we will set up a soup kitchen and provide food packages, clean water, sanitary products and other essentials to refugees as they flee the Russian invasion.

The van will then be used to ferry refugees from our pop up camp to the Polish border, where it will restock on food and repeat this process until funds (including our own money) run out.

We will have to buy a van as we are unlikely to obtain insurance for a rental for driving it into a warzone, and we would ideally donate it to locals to continue our work when we do eventually leave. Funds allowing, we are prepared to stay in Ukraine for 6 months.

We will be bringing a trained medic who specialises in trauma care who will be joining us and will be able to provide basic medical assistance to refugees who are injured.

We plan to leave for Ukraine at the start of April 2022.

Estimated costs are:

  • £3000-5000 for the purchase of a minivan (if you would like to donate one please get in touch).
  • £3000-10,000 for food, water, medical supplies and other essentials (including sanitary products and toiletries).
  • £250 for a petrol generator.
  • £200 for a large power bank.
  • £2000 petrol expenses.
  • £300 for a satellite phone.
  • £100 for a stretcher.
  • £500 for cooking equipment (including a gas cooker).
  • PPE for volunteers (we want to ideally provide everyone with a proper helmet to protect them from falling debris), it costs around £600 to kit one person out in body armour.
  • No one is salaried for this mission, we are all volunteers who want to help innocent individuals and make a real difference in the world.

Around 3000 civilians have died so far and as well as the growing number of refugees - which is currently over 1 million - we anticipate there will be major food shortages due to the ongoing invasion, with the elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable people facing death not only by war but by starvation, which we will do everything we can to prevent.

We believe we have a moral duty to help the Ukrainian people against Russian tyranny, as Ukraine has largely been abandoned by the world to fend off the Russian war machine alone.

Our mission is a humanitarian one and we do not plan to engage in combat, but will do everything in our power to preserve the lives of innocent civilians.

We also plan to do everything we can to document the invasion and provide unbiased reporting of the event.

If we do not raise the bare minimum funds to make this cause possible we will be donating all money raised to a Ukrainian-crisis oriented charity.

If you think you could help with this (we are looking for veterans or those with relevant skills i.e. a mechanic) please email [email protected]
