Who we are:
We are an independent dance company based in Oxford and every Sunday we work with an incredible group of young dancers to develop their contemporary dance technique, creative voices, and love of dance!
Why are we fundraising?
As a result of the pandemic we are facing seriously low numbers of students, and therefore we are facing financial concerns about the future of our dance classes. We still have a small, but extremely talented, dedicated and lovely group of students, who we want to continue supporting on their dance journeys!
Money raised will go towards covering the costs of our overheads; studio hire, teacher fees, insurance, and if we reach our target any additional money raised will go towards setting up a scholarship programme for dancers from low income families to ensure more young people have access to dance.
A little bit more about the work we do:
As part of our programmes we provide technique training from our regular teachers, April Gunawardena and Thomas Page, we organise termly guest workshops with leading artists from the Contemporary dance world, and special theatre trips to see inspiring dance companies (most recently Rambert 2 at the Oxford Playhouse!).
Our performance youth company, TPD Young Artists, have an exciting year planned ahead of them with various performances scheduled across Oxfordshire!
We are confident that post-pandemic we will be able to get our numbers back up and work in the self-sufficient model we had before Covid-19, but we need your help to get us to that point!
