18th February 2016What Can I Say?
I'm having to gather myself up off the floor and wipe away some seriously fat happy slightly exhausted tears to write this.
For once I'm kind of lost for words.....hang on while I blow my nose and compose myself....and think of something witty to say. Nope. All that my fuddled brain can muster is THANK YOU. Words beyond that are failing me right now.
Thank you to each and every one of you amazing 695 people who have backed our crowd fund. I never imagined we would smash our target and then some. I never imagined when #ToyLikeMe started in April last year that so many people would believe in it. I never imagined when I've been up in the late night writing about how the world need fairies with hearing aids and wizards with white canes that I could actually make it happen. I never imagined I could get Playmobil and Lego to really start changing the way they represent disabled kids. I never imagined I could actually create some real tangible change for 150 million kids. But we can and we will. Kaboom!
Enough with all that sentiment. What next? Where will your funds go?
I'm going to be spending the coming weeks sending out your rewards (bare with me on this one - I've got over 600 to send but they will come). Then I'll be building a site map for www.toylikeme.com - this is basically a list of what the site will contain and how it will be navigated. Next, I'll be seeking quotes from professional web designers and developers to build our cyber hutch. I'm aiming to have the website up and running by summer 2016!
I'll keep you all posted so you can watch the foundation bricks you have pledged, grow up, up and away!
Love and eternal gratitude,
Rebecca and Team #ToyLikeMe
