Totally Unhinged Plymouth launch

Aim

Giving a platform to South West creatives with seed commissions for writers & a free event at a local mushroom farm to showcase the plays

For this project we will use the funds to seed commission local mid-career playwrights to write short plays in response to the urban Mushroom Farm at C103, a former Plymouth nightclub called JFKs run by Nudge Community Builders. We will hire South West based actors and creatives to perform these pieces at the Mushroom Farm in October, on National Mushroom Day. There will also be free writing workshops and slots for writers to send in their work to be performed.

Totally Unhinged is a new production company formed by former Plymouth Laureate, Laura Horton, and producer Naomi Turner, to give a platform to original, bold and joyful work from the South West. We want to find ways to create development opportunities for artists at a time when work is scarce. With collaboration and connectivity at the heart of what we do, we foster a spirit of fearlessness, challenging the idea of what risk really means and what audiences really want to be experiencing.

We want celebrate Plymouth and the brilliant creative people we have in this city.
