🎉 You're amazing! 🎉
Thanks to your incredible support we’ve hit our £20,000 target and unlocked £10,000 in match funding to complete our fundraising!
This appeal closes at 5pm today, though our page will stay open for donations even after that. If you haven’t given yet, now’s the perfect moment to add your support and help secure the future of Theatre Royal Winchester as a local live performance venue.

Yes, it’s cheeky – but we’re serious about this.
The stalls toilets at Theatre Royal Winchester are outdated, unreliable and no longer fit for the 80,000 people who visit every year. Queues are long, the layout’s awkward and the facilities no longer reflect the inclusive, welcoming space we want our theatre to be.
We know times are tough across the arts - including for us. This project isn’t a luxury: it’s a necessary investment in essential infrastructure that’s already causing disruption and rising costs.
If we don’t act now, the problems – and the bills – will only grow.
We’ve already raised most of the funds for this toilet refurbishment project. Now we’re asking for your help to get it over the line and protect the long-term future of your local theatre.
We’re raising £100,000 to complete the final phase of our front-of-house refurbishment. This upgrade will:
The full cost of this project is £390,000. We've already secured most of the money needed through our Capital Restoration Levy Fund and generous grants from trusts and foundations.
Now we need you to help us raise the final £100k and fix our toilets for good. We're starting with a £30k target on this crowdfunder (as we'll be doing lots of offline fundraising too!) with the aim of stretching that target as much as we can!
We’ve already refurbished the theatre bar, foyer, Box Office and Circle toilets. The Stalls toilets, used by the majority of our audiences, are the last piece of the puzzle - and the one we hear the most complaints about...

Whether you’re here for a show, a workshop or a community project, we want every visit to be comfortable and welcoming from start to finish.
As an arts and education charity, our mission is to delight and unite our communities through the power of live performance. We aim to make live performance more accessible, inclusive and inspiring for all – and that starts with the basics.
From families at their first panto to older audiences at matinees to refugees seeking sanctuary through creativity, everyone deserves a comfortable, welcoming experience.
And right now, the stalls loos are letting the side down – and driving up costs.
Therefore, this project is also key to keeping Theatre Royal Winchester running efficiently, improving our income from performances and supporting the future of our whole charity, including Hat Fair and our community and education work.
So, if you 'give a crap' about the arts... Give a Crap: Save Our Toilets. 😉
Thank you.
