Together we are not alone. Help us to break down the barriers to isolation this winter.
We're all affected by loneliness at times in our lives. We can feel lonely regardless of our circumstances, our location, and whether we are spending time on our own or with others. Try not to feel embarrassed or ashamed if you do.
Everyone feels lonely from time to time. But for many of us, particularly those in later life, loneliness can start to define our lives and have a significant impact on our wellbeing.

Loneliness. It's a part of life. Let's talk about it.
Sometimes admitting we feel lonely can be hard. It’s important to remember that lots of people experience similar feelings of loneliness, and that they can pass.
Understanding our own reasons for feeling lonely can help identify and manage these feelings.
We want to help reduce loneliness in Lancashire this winter so we have pulled together a helpful list of organisations that host regular events you can attend either with friends, family or with your carers. You can visit our website here for a list of all the organisations in your area.
We also run several services which may help support you further such as Good Day Calls, Support at Home and our Day Clubs. Age UK Lancashire | Our Services
Help us be there for someone who is lonely.
Our Good Day Calls project is one of our underfunded services which means we need to continuously fundraise to ensure we can reach those who are lonely. It currently costs £5000 per month to run and we have funding till March 2025. Any donation you can give today may go towards our Good Day Calls service.
We have 3 day clubs in Lancashire (Ormskirk, Lancaster and Nelson). Our day clubs are an excellent way for those who have a long term illness to find new friends in a safe and fun environment. Watch our video of Penny, one of our Nelson members. The vast majority of the clubs are funded from membership, however we need new activities to ensure we can keep activities fun and engaging. Any donation you can give today will allow us to buy new materials for; arts, crafts, games and entertainment.
As a local charity that supports people in Lancashire, your donation will stay in Lancashire and will directly help someone in need.
Together we are not alone. Together we can break down the barriers to isolation and loneliness. Through your generosity we can help reach more people who are feeling lonely and we can help reconnect them to their communities, friends and families.
