To raise funds to install solar panels and LED lighting, to reduce our carbon emissions and avoid soaring energy prices.
Our Project
We are seeking funding to install solar panels and energy efficient lighting in our cancer support centre to help reduce our carbon emissions and avoid high energy prices. Our ambition for this project is for the centre to be as environmentally efficient as possible and to reduce the cost of our energy bills. We are completely reliant on electricity for our heating and lighting. Providing the correct temperate for our service users is essential as many are mid or post treatment and therefore have compromised immune systems.

Why we are seeking funding
By installing solar panels and new lighting we would be able to ensure that we continue to provide the best possible experience to all those who visit Star Throwers to benefit from our free cancer support services. By decreasing our energy bills we would be able to invest more money into expanding our support services and therefore increase the number of sessions delivered. Currently our annual energy bill is around £6,000 and this could set to increase further, by installing new energy efficient options in the centre we can protect our charity from future price increases.

About Star Throwers
