Aim

The aim of our project is to raise the funding required to a new Padel Court at the Hunslet Club

Who are we?

The Hunslet Club is a not-for-profit youth organisation and registered charity with over 3,450 members. Our top priority is to serve as a safe place for young people in and around Leeds. Furthermore we always strive to ensure they are able to reach their full potential, despite financial circumstances. We do this by providing a wide range of sessions, including dance, sports, youth workshops/intervention and various educational courses.

Founded in 1940, our experience working with young people is long standing, and the sense of community in our club is like no other. Our activities range from Rugby and Football, to Gymnastics and Ballet and much more. Newcomers are always welcome, so don’t hesitate to join in or come along to a session.

Help Us Bring One of the World’s Fastest Growing Sports to South Leeds

We are raising funds to build a brand new padel court at The Hunslet Club, creating an exciting new opportunity for young people and the wider community to get active.

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. It’s fun, social, easy to learn and suitable for all ages and abilities. By building a court at The Hunslet Club, we will make this exciting sport accessible and affordable for our local community.

With your support, we can bring padel to South Leeds and help hundreds of young people discover a new way to stay active.

How we’ll spend the money raised

What The Funding Will Help Us Build

The money raised through this campaign will help us:

  • Construct a new padel court

  • Install lighting and safe playing surfaces

  • Purchase padel equipment for young people

  • Deliver coaching sessions and beginner programmes

  • Provide free and subsidised sessions for young people

This facility will allow us to introduce regular youth sessions, community leagues, coaching programmes and school partnerships.

Community impact

The new court will allow us to:

  • Introduce hundreds of young people to a new sport

  • Increase weekly physical activity opportunities

  • Provide affordable sport for local families

  • Create new community programmes and competitions

  • Encourage lifelong participation in sport

Most importantly, it will help young people stay active, build confidence and feel part of a positive community.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
