0The National Brain Appeal raises funds to advance treatment and research at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and the Institute of Neurology – together known as 'Queen Square'.
In the UK alone, 1 in 6 of us has a neurological condition. That’s 14.7million mums, dads, sons, daughters, friends and colleagues who are affected. It’s the challenge of our times.
We want to improve the outcome and quality of life for everyone affected by a neurological condition. These include brain tumours, stroke, epilepsy, dementias, MS and Parkinson’s disease to name but a few. We achieve our vision by funding state of the art equipment, major building programmes and life-saving research – over and above what the NHS can provide.
The National Hospital was established in 1860 and is regarded as the ‘cradle of British neurology’. It is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
The UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology has a world-class reputation for neuroscience. Its mission is to translate neuroscience discovery research into treatments for patients with neurological diseases.
