Aim
The aim of this Crowdfunder is to support me taking my new, one woman show, Tit Talk to the Edinburgh Fringe and beyond.
Tit Talk is my new, one woman show based around personal journeys centred on a woman's relationship with her tits through the good and bad times. It seeks to make an audience laugh, cry and I hope leave with a sense of purpose and optimism.
Using theatre and storytelling the one act play with 4 key scenes - earlier years/ puberty and fun times, family relationships, personal health challenges and ongoing journeys leaving audiences informed and connected to life experiences (breast cancer) that now affect 1 in 7 woman during their lifetime.
Tit Talk is listed in the main Fringe programme, and I will also be performing the show in Kirkcudbright and East Lothian before the Edinburgh Fringe run. Just as I have with my previous show I want to take this show on the road moving forwards too.
I believe theatre can play a powerful role in raising awareness, encouraging dialogue and ultimately perhaps even saving lives as a consequence. The show sets out to aid those on a similar journey and increase understanding for surrounding professionals, supporters, friends and family.
My show takes an emotional journey dealing with grief and loss as well as coming to terms with a personal diagnosis. The show has been written as a one act play using costume, scenery, real life writing excerpts and music to convey younger dreams, hope, strength, fear and optimism.
Previous shows
I have been performing for 9 years through local drama group with more recent roles including Goldilocks in the 2025 panto, Alice in ‘After Esme’, one act play performed in 2025 and Jan in the full-length play ‘Ladies Day’ in 2026.
In 2025 I developed a show (The World at 15mph… ish) for the Edinburgh Fringe which I performed for a full run. I had an audience every day in an 1105 slot at Brewdog on Lothian Road (this had not always been the case for this venue in previous slots) and received great reviews from attendees, and Fringe Review. I had reasonable press coverage with a double spread in the Galloway News (my local newspaper) and mention in Broadway Baby. This show was developed from previous speaker events which I’d delivered to various community groups and on the Inspiration Stage at the UK Cycling Show, NEC Birmingham. As well as bringing this show back to Edinburgh for 2026, I am also performing now at Durham Fringe and the Midlands Fringe.
Edinburgh Fringe 2026
Tit Talk will take place in Room 1 of Carbon Lounge as part of PBH Free Fringe. I had opted to do this route to minimise financial risks many artists face with Edinburgh Fringe and also to enable me to again join an artist community while in Edinburgh. My other shows are at Brewdog, Lothian Road and Supercube, George Street.

This Crowdfunder will enable me to be able to do increased publicity to support my upcoming show, support direct costs associated with costume and staging and cover the costs of working with a videographer to produce promotional material to enable me to take the show on following the Fringe. My stretch target will support additional shows.
I hope to raise £2.5K to support publicity work including a videographer, flyers and posters and secure £1K to cover my time on this project at this stage. I have already secured in kind accommodation and initial costs of Fringe Programme entry from personal funds. I am delighted that my application has also been supported by Creative Scotland offering recognition of my experience and supporting my ambition to develop my artistic practice beyond just the Edinburgh fringe. I am also doing Durham and Midlands Fringe with the World at 15mph... ish.
Stretch targets and additional funds will enable me to take the show on beyond Edinburgh with small theatre performances and community events. Moving forwards I hope my show can also provide training to healthcare professionals and could support companies/organisations to think about how to hold conversations about cancer in their workplace.
