FAMLA is a brand new piece of writing for the theatre by acclaimed writer John McCann. It's dark, funny, heartbreaking and challenges the stories we tell ourselves to hide the truth of who we really are.
We are a new team here at Tinderbox, with an ambition to bring high quality professional new theatre to everyone, whether that be a rural community venue, an arts centre or theatre, or even your living room. FAMLA will deliver the same high quality production values whether it we perform in a professional theatre venue or a school hall. We are passionate about supporting the creativity of local people.
This Crowdfunder will allow us to take great strides to achieve all of this, and access to the arts will be less about how close you live to a theatre, and more about simply visiting your local community centre, college, or even inviting us to perform at your own private event.
We are also grateful for the support and funding that we receive from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Belfast City Council.
FAMLA by John McCann
Haunting, hilarious and heartbreaking, FAMLA challenges the stories we tell ourselves to hide the truth of who we really are.
Hector has passed this place all her young life. An old house. Must be a hundred years old. Maybe more. Looks abandoned. Festering. She never really gave the house a second thought.
Until now when she needs a place to escape to.
She discovers someone is still living inside.
Someone spiteful. Refusing to budge. Clinging on...
FAMLA is a theatrical feast not to be missed.
