ABOUT US
Sheffield Tigers RUFC is non-profit, members run, rugby club. We are very passionate about providing an inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy rugby. We have a successful men’s 1st team playing in NL2 North and a 2nd team playing in Yorkshire Merit League. Most importantly for the future of the club we have an ever growing minis & juniors section as well as being very proud to have recently added a senior women’s team too. We also work very closely and share facilities with Sheffield Vulcans inclusive rugby team.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on our club. We have suffered loss of income due to the suspension of activities that generates essential revenue. During this period staff and volunteers at the club have worked tremendously hard to keep the club going. Having survive this period, everyone at the club is determined to push forward and make the club more successful than ever and make up for lost time due to the pandemic.
WHAT DO WE WANT TO FUND?
Over recent years the minis & juniors sections have grown significantly! We can now boast teams from U7s all the way through to U16s. Next season will be the first time in a number of years we are able to field a U18s team. This will hopefully provide a pathway for locally produced players to progress into our senior teams.
With the recent development of the senior women's team and next season planning to start a girl’s junior section alongside boy’s colts (U18) rugby, pitch space and allocation is proving to be an issue. To solve this problem the club has recently purchased some more land next to our current pitch space and have planning permission to develop this land into a new pitch. Now we need help to generate the funds to turn a farmer’s field on the top of Dore Moor into a new rugby pitch that every gender and every age can play rugby on for many years to come.
OUR TARGET
We need your help to achieve our goals! We are targeting £20,000 to put towards the development of the new pitch. Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated! Don’t forget to claim your rewards when making your donations.
