Aim

Then vs now: what it takes to make it in music. A raw look at fame, passion, and the bands that keep music alive.

I’m Alex Boucher, a lifelong musician and writer. Years ago, I chased the dream of making it in a 90s band — the gigs, the tours, the near misses. It was raw, chaotic, and unforgettable. I wrote Three and a Half Minutes of Fame to capture that experience, and now, together with producer Jenni Harrison and her production company Pink + Red, we’re bringing it to the screen.

Our documentary, Three and a Half Minutes of Fame, looks at what’s changed — and what hasn’t — for musicians trying to make it today. We’ll be filming in London, Essex, and The North, talking to bands, venues, industry experts and fans to show the beating heart of live music in the UK. From the smoky clubs of the 90s to the digital hustle of streaming platforms, it’s a story about the passion that keeps artists going, even when the odds are against them.

Your support will help us fund location shoots, crew costs, post-production, and music licensing — the essential steps to bring this documentary to life. Every contribution, big or small, helps us celebrate real musicians and keep live music alive for future generations.

Our vision is simple: to honour the past, champion the present, and inspire the future of independent music.
