Your support makes a difference
Our project is to make an ambitious community tapestry, telling the incredible story of women’s suffrage journey - and we need your support
Threads of Equality
In 2028, we mark 100 years since women won the vote on the same terms as men. To celebrate this momentous milestone, HerVote100 is bringing people and organisations together across the country to tell the story of women’s suffrage — and to make sure it continues to inspire future generations.
Launched during Women’s History Month 2026, HerVote100 is a grassroots Community Interest Company, run entirely by volunteers. Our aim is simple: to make the centenary celebrations as inclusive, widespread and inspiring as possible, while celebrating the women who fought for equality and democracy in Britain.
A national story, stitched together
Our major project is an ambitious 15-metre tapestry, telling the story of women’s journey towards political representation.
Designed by a textile artist and created collectively by stitching groups, schools and community organisations across the country, the tapestry will bring together hundreds of hands — and hundreds of stories — to create one extraordinary national artwork.
It will reveal some of the lesser-known moments of the suffrage campaign alongside the events that made the history books. Who knew, for example, that campaign leaflets were once dropped over London from a hot-air balloon?
Your support can help bring it to life
We are now looking for sponsors and supporters to help make this unique project a reality. We hope to work with organisations connected to women’s suffrage, democracy, textiles and stitching — as well as businesses, organisations and individuals who simply believe this is a story worth telling.
We estimate that we need to raise £15,000 to complete the project.
This will cover the artist fee, materials and expenses to connect the community groups and bring the work together.
Every contribution, large or small, will help bring this extraordinary story to life. Supporters of over £500 will be recognised with their name or logo stitched into the finished tapestry, as well as being acknowledged in press information and publicity surrounding the project. Smaller donations will be recognised in publicity.
The completed tapestry will be unveiled and toured at venues across the UK from 2028.
This is a story about what can happen when people come together.
Now we need your help to stitch it into the future.
