Do It For The Club ! I am running the Sheffield 1/2 Marathon, to help resurface the courts at Thorncliffe Tennis Club, so we don’t close.
Thorncliffe Tennis Club are in danger of closing due to ageing courts and are therefore crowdfunding to raise funds to do so.
As part of this effort to raise funds, I have decided to run the Sheffield Half Marathon in April, which is a massive challenge for me.
I joined the club as a junior aged 15 and have spent the last 16 years representing the club in league matches, winning a few divisions along the way!
Tennis Courts need resurfacing every 10 years and we are currently on year 18. Funds have been raised through memberships but we are still short of the £50,000 required
The last 16 years have also been spent making a very random group of lifelong friends to have a laugh with on and off the court.
Thorncliffe Tennis Club offers the most affordable Tennis in Sheffield to encourage the local community to learn a skill, be social and stay fit.
It would be heartbreaking for so many people if the courts were to close, so you’ve got to
