Aim

We aim to show people how amazing Vegan food can be and no animals are harmed in the baking!

About me

Hi, I'm Clare, I run a small Vegan business from my tiny kitchen based in Langley, on the outskirts of the beautiful New Forest.

I became vegan around 3 years ago after rescueing 12 ex battery hens. I was horrified at the state they were in, simply because people want cheap eggs.

My partner, Stu and I started to volunteer for a hen rescue charity and became part of their transport team, this means we actually go to the farms and help empty the barns for the hens to be rescued rather than go to slaughter at just 17 months old. After visiting several farms, it became clear that free range hens were not treated any better than caged hens.

After looking at the rest of the food industry we became Vegan overnight and haven’t looked back. It has been the best thing I have ever done and I have even inspired others to head down the same route. We are 100% vegan for the animals.

Why Vegan Food?

I have background in cooking and used to be a chef so it felt natural to create food that can be enjoyed by everyone, Vegan or Non-Vegan. The Vegan Scullery was born and we are enjoying every bite! I love creating food that Vegans and Non-Vegans enjoy, the best bit for me is that no animals are harmed in the baking!

Stu is my biggest supporter and also my chief food tester :) he has had a LOT of cake tasting experience!

The Dream

In an ideal world, I would love to open an animal sanctuary with a cafe so that we could save more animals and people could meet them too! We bought our house just because our rescued animals had lots of space.....our house was in desperate need of repair. We didnt have any heating or even a kitchen last winter, but the animals were fine, we built our girls (hens, turkeys and ducks) a preditor proof enclosure that was bigger than the footprint of our house!

I am crowdfunding to help me build a kitchen so that I can continue to grow my business. I would love a space where I can teach people how to cook and enjoy vegan food! I am always asked 'what do you eat?' and I love to show people how exciting and 'normal' Vegan food can be.
