We aim to raise funds to publish a book written with, and about, children surviving on the streets of Dhaka.
Friends of Street Children Bangladesh invite you to support a crowdfunder raising funds to support work with children surviving on the streets of Dhaka.
Two of our trustees have written and illustrated a book that will be published by Bok Bok books. It is for children aged nine plus and contains four fictional stories about children who survived on the streets of Dhaka. The stories are based on 18 case studies.
The book is for children who want to find out more about real places and real people whose experiences are very different from their own. It includes topics for discussion with young readers.
The author and illustrator are not taking royalties from the sale of the book and the publisher is not making a profit. All proceeds from selling the book, after production costs, will be donated to Friends of Street Children Bangladesh to support work with children in Dhaka.
From this crowd funding page, you can order and pay for your signed copy of the book before it is printed. You can also order an invitation to the book launch, a limited-edition illustration from the book and a presentation for your organisation by the author and/or illustrator.
We hope that you will support this project so that we can all make a real difference to the way in which children on the streets are understood and help to provide some of the children with a better future.
