Aim

We aim to raise £800 to tell this twisted tale that means so much to us.

The Smile Shop is a Horror/Comedy/Satire short that Jules Che Thurlow has been developing over the past year. It's very current politically in the way it addresses and mocks the bizarre thought processes of right wing Britain, but approaches this subject through a trashy 70/80s lens in the vein of John Waters/The Rocky Horror Picture Show/Little Shop of Horrors.

It follows a bratty private schoolboy, Simon Butterscotch, who has to face his worst nightmare...public dentistry (in the form of the 'electro-lobotomy loving', Dr Drill Ill.)

The film is a student-lead Summer Project produced by Clíona McCann who is entering her 4th year of Film at Edinburgh Napier University, and co-produced/directed/written by Jules who is starting his 3rd year on the course.

Both are very confident in the project amd will be shooting over the final weekend of July and are aiming to raise £800 to cover costume, equipment, catering, travel, and prop hire etc.

2 Events in Edinburgh will be announced soon:

1. The Gum Games (an oral based sports day with plenty of prizes to leave you smiling)

and

2.  A dental cabaret show...iykyk

So far there is a truly talented and excited cast/crew confirmed.

Any donation is appreciated and you will appear in the credits of the film.

For all donations over £10, you will receive a free ticket to a cast/crew exclusive, Private Screening.

Plenty More announcements to come, keep an eye on the instagram @thesmileshopshortfilm, we will be posting some bizarre content that matches the vibe of the project.

Dr Drill Ill can't wait to turn your frown upside down!
