Our big aim to have a catering Lebanese food where we can bring Lebanese food to every table
The Saj Bar is a small family-run Lebanese food business created by us, Emma and Jimmy, in Sevenoaks. Our idea came from wanting to share a taste of Lebanon through one of its simplest and most loved foods: saj flatbread.
Each flatbread is stretched by hand and freshly cooked on a traditional domed saj grill in front of our customers. We serve fillings such as zaatar, halloumi, and Akkawi with mozzarella, using quality ingredients and recipes inspired by the food Jimmy grew up with.
We are currently operating at Castle Farm in Sevenoaks and have received wonderful support and encouraging feedback from the local community. We now want to take the next step and develop The Saj Bar into a sustainable local business that can trade regularly at markets, festivals, private events and community locations.
Our vision is to create more than just a food stall. We want The Saj Bar to be a warm and welcoming experience where people can discover authentic Lebanese flavours, watch their food being prepared fresh and learn a little about our culture and story.
The money raised will help us purchase the equipment we need to grow safely and professionally, including a larger dough mixer, refrigeration and food storage, improved catering equipment, signage and a reliable setup for markets and private events. It will also help with pitch fees, ingredients, insurance and the costs involved in securing a small licensed preparation kitchen.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will bring us closer to building a stable family business and sharing The Saj Bar with more people across Sevenoaks and Kent. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our journey, shares our campaign or visits us for a freshly made saj.
