Aim
Our goal is to raise £2,000 by the end of the school year to support the renovation of the school playground.
Over the past three years, since welcoming new members to the PTFA, we have worked hard to create memorable experiences and meaningful improvements for the pupils of St Barnabas. From the excitement of bringing dinosaurs into school, to providing Christmas and Easter gifts, to helping fund the new Forest School hut and storage so outdoor learning can continue in all weathers — we are proud of what our community can achieve when we work together.
One thing we’ve learned is that fundraising works best when everyone can clearly see the difference their support makes. That’s why our shared focus for the rest of this year is The Playground Project.
Our school is fortunate to have several outdoor play spaces, but over time these areas have become worn and tired, with some equipment damaged through everyday use. After speaking with staff and pupils, we’ve identified some key priorities. The Sunflower play area becomes very muddy and difficult to use in wet weather. Children have told us they would love more play equipment, a new trim trail, additional resources, and brighter, more engaging surroundings. Staff have highlighted the need for shaded areas, plus more benches and picnic tables where children can sit, socialise and learn outdoors. Our Reception team would also like their outdoor area levelled to make it safer and more accessible.
As you can see, there is plenty we would love to achieve — but without funding, progress is limited. As a dedicated community group, our immediate goal is to raise £2,000 by the end of the school year to begin these much-needed renovations, repairs and improvements. This is just the starting point. We know the full vision will require tens of thousands of pounds, but every journey begins with a first step — and every contribution truly does help.
We will use this page to keep you updated on funds raised, new ideas, supplier quotes and equipment plans as the project develops.
Our PTFA team will be running events, after-school sales and competitions throughout the year. If you would like to support us through your own fundraising, we would love to have you involved. Whether you’re taking part in a fun run, sports challenge or sponsored event, you can use this page to gather sponsors and donations. Together, we can make a real difference.
