#SaveOurVenues - The Met

The Met are joining a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues. 

Our building's closure due to the outbreak of Covid-19 has had a drastic impact on our organisation. Due to the cancelling and rescheduling of all of our shows, we have been struggling to maintain our usual cashflow which is putting our future as a venue at risk. As we know public venues will be one of the last things to reopen, we are aware that we face several months of severely reduced activity, and have been coming up with ideas on how we can still support our community, and the artists we would have been showcasing during this time. 

We are already proud partners of the Greater Manchester project United We Stream, who have been using our building as a hub from which to broadcast their shows to thousands of people across the city. We've also been developing online content for our workshop groups to ensure they can still interact throughout this time, and we've been working on the beginnings of a digital portfolio of exclusive interviews with artists, backstage tours of our building to help entertain the public during our closure. Your donations will help us to execute these projects, and develop more new and exciting ways to keep music and creativity alive within Greater Manchester during this time. 

If we hit our target, and we can prevent the permanent closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
