Your support makes a difference

Aim: Three friends row across the Atlantic to raise funds for Friends of PICU, bringing hope and support to critically ill children and families.

Who are we?

Burni, Aaron, and Jon share a deep friendship built on years of shared experiences. Burni and Aaron, both now ex-Marines, are joined by Jon, still serving, in planning the adventure of a lifetime—rowing across the Atlantic in 2027. For us, this challenge is all about pushing boundaries, testing our strength, and creating memories together. It’s an opportunity to embrace the spirit of adventure we've always shared and to look ahead to the incredible journey that awaits us. This is more than just a race across the ocean; it’s a celebration of friendship, adventure, and the thrill of tackling the toughest challenges together.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We’re crowdfunding because, while rowing across the Atlantic is an incredible physical challenge, it’s also a major financial one. To get to the start line in 2027, we’ll need around £60k to cover costs like equipment, training, logistics, and all the essentials for the journey. Any funds raised beyond this target will be donated directly to the Friends of PICU charity, supporting critically ill children and their families. Your generosity will help us take on this adventure and make a meaningful impact for those in need.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money we raise for the World’s Toughest Row 2027 will be spent on covering the essential costs needed to get us to the start line. This includes equipment, training, travel, logistics, food, and safety measures—all the vital elements for preparing for such an extreme challenge. We’re committed to ensuring every penny goes towards making this adventure a reality. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be donated to the Friends of PICU charity, helping to provide critical support to children and families in need of intensive care. Your support not only helps us achieve this incredible feat but also gives back to a cause that means so much to us.

Community impact

This challenge isn’t just about the sport; it’s about something much bigger. By rowing across the Atlantic, we aim to raise awareness and funds for the Friends of PICU charity, which supports critically ill children and their families. The money we raise will go directly to helping those who are going through some of the toughest times of their lives, providing vital resources and support for families in need.

For us, this is about using our adventure to make a real difference. It’s not just a personal challenge, but a way to give back to the community. The physical and mental toughness required for this row represents the resilience that families facing these challenges show every day. Your support means you’re not only helping us achieve an incredible goal but also contributing to a cause that can change lives and bring hope to those who need it most. This journey is about pushing boundaries, showing solidarity, and making a positive impact beyond the race itself.
