We're one of the music venues identified by MVT as being most at risk of permanent closure due to the crisis. Please support our campaign.
The Lantern is part of a national initiative launched by the MVT to prevent the permanent closure of music venues most at risk due to the crisis.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHEN THIS IS ALL OVER? - The first thing on our list is to dive back into putting as much music on in our little town of Halifax as we possibly can. We miss you, we miss having fun, we miss seeing you all queuing outside, packing out the bars and stumbling home after having the time of your life.
For us there is nothing that replaces the feeling of seeing you smiling, dancing and having the time of your life in our front room and We want it all back....but there's a catch.... We need a little bit of help to see us through until March 31st 2021 (In line with the Music Venue Trust Campaign)
Trump has gone, there's a vaccine on the way and there is light at the end of the tunnel! - Let's look at the sunshine together!

Why are we crowdfunding?
Our music venue risks permanent closure because…. Unlike thousands of others we have been unable to trade since March and despite our own fundraising efforts we have awwww been unable to secure any substantial funding to assist us through this period.
Your donations will be used to assist us in paying our rent, standing costs and help us to be still here when everything has blown over.
About The Lantern
The Lantern is a 130 Capacity purpose built live music venue in Halifax, West Yorkshire and opened on the 10th November 2017. Since opening we have had the pleasure of hosting some incredible acts such as: Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Baxter Dury, The Wedding Present, PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS, The Virginmarys, John Bramwell (I AM KLOOT), amongst others.

About Save Our Venues - The Red List
During the last 8 months, Music Venue Trust and Crowdfunder have worked together to prevent the closure of hundreds of grassroots music venues. With no end to the crisis in sight, we are now refocusing that work to spotlight those venues under most imminent threat of permanent closure. The #SaveOurVenues Red List highlights the grassroots music venues at most risk.
Right now.
We’ve checked all the available funding, financial support, furlough schemes, business support for these venues, and what is on offer is not enough to prevent them being lost. These 32 venues are on the Critical List and need your help.
These grassroots venues play a crucial role in the development of British music, nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists to build their careers and develop their music and their performance skills. These venues also play a vital role in the cultural and economic vibrancy of any village, town or city.
