We will be bringing a much-needed indoor children's play area and café to Leeds City Centre, as well as an eco-friendly boutique toyshop!
We are incredibly excited to be bringing our children's role-play village, café, and boutique toyshop to Leeds City Centre. Hidden in the centre of a bustling city, our family-friendly haven will provide a charming space for adults to relax while children play.
As a family run business, our team currently consists of husband and wife, Greg and Frankie, and our eldest daughter, Ruth. With years of experience working in Early Years, we are passionate about creating a high-quality play environment for children; and as parents ourselves, we appreciate the importance of offering an inviting atmosphere for adults. Our cosy café area will be serving freshly ground coffee, tasty lunches and delicious homemade cakes.
In December 2022, we opened our first play cafe, ‘Role-Play Roundabout’, a pop-up play village based in Keighley. Although this was very well-received by parents and children alike, we soon realised that moving to our own premises would allow us to overcome the challenges we faced as a pop-up, and offer a lot more to our customers.
Our new authentic village will have 8 exciting role-play areas to explore! Children can tend poorly animals at the vets, ride the fire engine, build a house, visit the salon, and lots more. Alongside our play village, we will be running a small independent toyshop, specialising in high-quality and eco-friendly toys.
We were thrilled to secure premises on Call Lane. It's such a fantastic location, being right in the city centre; close to the Corn Exchange, and just a short walk from both the bus station and the train station. Leeds is a great city with so much to offer and we believe our village will be a valuable addition for young families.
Over the past few months, we have worked tirelessly and have made huge personal investments. In order to bring to life our design, we have budgeted to remove some walls, create play 'buildings', fit-out and equip the kitchen, build and paint bespoke furniture, and purchase many high-quality toys However, a number of additional costs have arisen, meaning our finances have been stretched tighter than we originally anticipated. In order to stay on track and achieve the high standard we wish to provide, we are asking our supporters to kindly help us add those finishing touches. As a huge thank you, we are offering some amazing rewards.
