To exhibit The Everyday Cyclist project outdoors in two iconic London parks this summer.
Too many people still don’t see cycling as something for them. The Everyday Cyclist project aims to change that by reframing what cycling looks like in the public imagination.
Through powerful portraits and personal stories, the project challenges the perception of who a cyclist is and who is celebrated.
It is time to celebrate those who create communities, lead groups and teach others.
It is time to celebrate those who learn to ride as an adult, reclaim their independence and push their own boundaries.
It is time to celebrate those who fix bikes, campaign for safer streets and even save lives.
The Everyday Cyclist aims to remind us that cycling belongs to everyone. When we change what cycling looks like, we change who feels welcome to ride.

Now is the time for this work to create impact.
That is why showing this work outdoors in two iconic London parks, in the heart of local communities is so important. Places that are cross cultural, free and easy to access, and have the potential to reach hundreds of thousands of people.
The National Trust is supporting the project by hosting it at Osterley Park from June to early July.
Not only this, but the exhibition at Osterley Park is set to be part of the West London Cycling Mela held on the 13th June at the park in conjunction with Hounslow, Ealing, Hammersmith and Richmond & Wandsworth Councils.
The exhibition will then move to Brockwell Park from July to August with support from Lambeth Council, with a celebration event being planned.

Hi, Im Becky Mursell, a professional photographer who loves to ride a bike! Since October 2022 I have pedalled my bike 3500km across London and met over 120 people to create The Everyday Cyclist project.

Everything is in place, and now I just need the funds to make it happen!
The main costs I am looking to cover from this campaign are:
Prints - £2200
The work will be displayed on 12 aluminium dibond boards with an anti graffiti laminate which are approx 200cm x 75cm. 10 of the boards will display a minimum of three portraits with accompanying quotes and stories.
Two additional boards will be used to introduce the project, signpost viewers to local cycling community groups as well as feature a collage of everyone who has taken part.
Installation framework - £300
The boards will be attached to wooden frames which will be attached to pre-existing railings in high footfall areas in each park.
Accessibility provision - £1000
Inclusion is an important value of the project. With several visually impaired riders involved, a professional audio describer will be commissioned to create audio descriptions for a selection of the portraits. These can then be accessed by viewers through QR codes to hear the descriptions on their own phone.
Other costs incurred for the project will be covered by a mixture of grant and personal funding. To date, many people have kindly donated their time and skills in kind as the project has received no funding up to this point.
This includes
Marika Hoogenboom (crowdfunding video), Andrea Maloney Design (project logo), Vincent Designs (printed board design), Lambeth Council (free venue), National Trust (free venue, staff to help install/deinstall and exhibition promotion through their channels).
If you believe cycling belongs to everyone there are two simple ways to show your support for this project!
1. Make a donation or claim a reward:
Every pledge gets this project closer to making this happen! Whether you can donate the equivalent of a cup of coffee and slice of cake 🍰 ☕️ or a high performance carbon road machine 🚲 - every single donation counts!
2. Spread the word:
Equally sharing this project with friends, family and wider networks will make a big difference. The more people reached, the more likely it is to succeed.
THE biggest thank you for your support. It truly has taken a community to get the project to this point and I can not thank you all enough.
Here is to celebrating with you at the exhibitions!
