Aim

Our goal is to provide free, original, and quality research about climate change. We are crowdfunding for research in order to achieve this!

ABOUT US

The Environmentalist is a non-governmental, non-profit, horizontal organization founded by Jack Gazeley in June 2021. We take a four-tiered approach to providing a free educational, news, and art platform. We start with original scientific research and literature reviews based on a range of academic sources and the expertise of our qualified researchers. From there, we provide scientific interpretation through accessible articles about relevant environmental issues. In addition to this, we provide free, simple, and accurate lessons which provide the reader with some basic tools to further their understanding of the environment. Through our Instagram page, we produce condensed infographics and beautiful photography of our planet. 

OUR ETHOS

We believe the best approach to the climate crisis lies in collaboration. Private ownership inherently gives those with resources and capital great influence on policy through unethical lobbying, to serve only their own interests and profits. The commodification of natural resources throughout the 20th century has led to alarming consumption with no regard for the possible consequences for the health of our planet. The use of land and resources affects everyone in the world and we think that everyone should get a say in how they are used, rather than just those who have vested interests driven by monetary gains. Therefore our ethos aligns with eco-socialism, in which public institutions are collectively owned and democratized with a focus on sustainable practices. This gives everyone a reason to engage with environmental discourse: your voice will be heard and everyone can collaborate to find solutions to problems affecting our entire species.

WHY DONATE?

We perform all of our research independently with no external endowment. We provide free educational pages and carry out extensive research to ensure that our articles are accurate, informative, and current. Any donations will go towards research projects, improving our platform, and creating new and interesting content. Remember our organization is non-profit, and as such, 100% of the money donated will go towards improving our platform!
