Aim

Assist us to represent Scotland and perform at the 46th European Brass Band Championships in Stavanger, Norway.

The Cooperation Band delivers musical education for adults on brass and percussion, providing instruments, and equipment as to facilitate the learning and performing of music and a secure environment for people to explore their creativity. Band members take part in weekly rehearsals aswell as concerts, masterclasses, workshops and contests. In terms of competition, the band is the most successful at a “Championship” level in Scotland, having won the National Championship of Great Britain finals twice, Scottish Championships 43 times and Scottish Open 7 times. The band aims high in its pursuit of musical excellence and currently is ranked 8th in the world. The band has represented Scotland at the European Brass Band Championships 15 times and as current Scottish Champions aim to do so again in May 2025.

This event brings together premier brass bands from across Europe, performing over 2 days – a set new work, and an own choice work.

The project funding will support the band to travel to Norway, specific musical equipment required for the performance of the work and transport of equipment to Stavanger. We are immensely proud that Katrina Marzella-Wheeler will be conducting the band in Norway.

The band now fundraises itself through hosting concerts, Christmas carolling, prize money from contesting, gala days & many other events including performance at Glasgow Pride for the past years.

The band is made up of around 30 musicians who day to day are teachers, students, retail workers, business owners & many more professions.

With your assistance the cooperation Band can go on to represent Scotland at the 46th European Brass Band Championships, displaying the highest levels of musical virtuosity and distinction.
