The Prizes

Two stalls tickets for the first night of the BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall

The 2023 BBC Proms season gets off to a whirlwind start with a series of Nordic delights – from Grieg’s passionate Piano Concerto to Sibelius’s rousing statement of national identity, Finlandia. Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra introduces each section of the orchestra from strings to timpani and is packed with earworms for all ages. Plus, a world premiere from Ukrainian composer, Bohdana Frolyak.

Two tickets to see Disney's Award-winning musical The Lion King with lyrics by Tim Rice, our In Conversation at The Ivy Club guest

Disney’s award-winning musical The Lion King explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music. It follows the powerful story of Simba as he journeys from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.

Now in its 24th year at London's Lyceum Theatre, visionary director Julie Taymor’s acclaimed reimagining of Disney's beloved film will redefine your expectation of theatre.

Theatres Trust - protecting theatres across the UK

Theatres arePeople in hard hats in theatre auditorium with pink ceiling vital community hubs, offering great entertainment, but more importantly places where people can come together – ever more vital in these difficult times with the cost-of-living crisis.

Theatres Trust is the only charity that provides free advice to all the UK’s theatres and campaigns to protect theatre buildings to ensure audiences can enjoy live performance. Underpinning all of our work are four main strands resilience, inclusion, environmental sustainability and placemaking.

We believe that all people across the country should have access to live performance in great theatres.

Our work has never been more urgent than in the past three years as theatres faced enforced closures due to the pandemic. But we aren’t out of the woods yet.

Theatres continue to face challenging times ahead with reduced funding, rising energy costs and the cost-of-living crisis. Many of the UK’s theatre buildings need urgent work to bring up to modern standards of accessibility, sustainability and comfort for audiences.

Our work to support theatres to survive and thrive is more important now than ever.

How you can help

We have been given a fantastic prize of First Night of the Proms tickets by a generous supporter. Buying tickets to enter the prize draw will help fund our work to ensure that we can still offer free advice, grants and support to the 1,100 theatres in the UK, from small rural theatres in villages to large, subsidised theatres in cities.
