Aim

A mobile application which allows users to donate items for delivery to their nearest shelter, items suchas - Sleeping bags & warm clothes.

The Wishlist mobile app

We are creating a mobile application which changes how donations are made. A way for people to buy brand new items, food and informative print to be delivered directly to a charity in their local area. Users will receive notifications when their items have been delivered and in some cases even get notified when someone in need has collected their donation. Our user base will be people who want to donate to charity but don't just want to give money. We are already in talks with major charities suchas Barnabus, The Big Issue and dozens of other charities and shelters across the North West.

More than 300,000 people in Britain – equivalent to one in every 200 – are officially recorded as homeless or living in inadequate homes, according to figures released by the charity Shelter and with your help we can implement our app across the UK starting with the North West.

The Wishlist application is a free to use platform featuring 4 sections of donation, these will be linked to a relevant retailer using APIs to monitor stock numbers and orders. These sections will be -

WARMTH : here users can buy gloves, hats, socks, sleeping bags, blankets, clothing, underwear and towels. These items will be supplied in partnership with a high street shop.

INFORMATION : Here informational print items, just as sorely needed, such as printed posters or flyers with useful information, can be ordered. This allows our supported charities to spend money in other places.

FOOD : We will team up with a high street supermarket to allow people to purchase tinned items which will be collected by local food banks or free meal services.

MISC : Here we include items which don't fit in other sections such as sanitary products, deposits for flats or haircuts with trusted hairdressers.

Once a user has clicked the items they wish to purchase they will be shown their three nearest homeless shelters that need their chosen items. This information is submitted to the retailer with the order.

No commission is taken on the price of the items purchased. All money raised will go into the development, design and marketing of The Wishlist across the North West. Please note - artwork, logo and graphic design from the image included are subject to change post funding.
