WE WANT TO SEE FOOD POVERTY END! In addition to giving out food parcels, we help individuals address the underlying causes of this need.

Please help us to continue to support those in need as the cost of living crisis causes the price of everyday essential items including food and household supplies to increase.

Since 2015 the WHITEHAWK FOODBANK has been supporting those in need in our community through the distribution of emergency food parcels and support in identifying and addressing the underlying causes of this need, helping to prevent the development of further difficulties for individuals and families already struggling.

Since 2015 over 25,000 individuals in our community have been supported with more than10,000 food parcels, each one containing food for 3 days of meals and essential household supplies. Fresh fruit and vegetables are also available.

The need for this support has always been great on Whitehawk Estate in East Brighton, the most deprived area in our city and ranking in the bottom 10% nationally( IMD 2019), but it has SKYROCKETED since the pandemic and current cost of living crisis - with a 200% increase in the number of parcels provided compared to pre-pandemic levels!

Our weekly COMMUNITY CAFE is an important part of the Foodbank. This relaxed, welcoming space gives the opportunity to really get to know our clients and others in the community and find the right support for them. We welcome advisors from a range of specialist charities to the Cafe, offering clients easy access and free support, especially in the areas of debt and benefits, energy and water and mental health.

"The Foodbank has been such a great hope and comfort in these dark times, just knowing that someone cares."
