Aim
Virgin Atlantic employees, along side their friends and family will be climbing the Welsh 3 peaks in aid of The VAF and Spread Some Sunshine
The Reason.
So, the reason this idea came to be was to raise money with an achievable task for everyone. The charities' chosen are Virgin's Foundation which support Passport to change as well as others, also we are supporting Faye's incredible cause Spread some sunshine. Raising money is only half the reason we wanted to do something like this, raising awareness is just as important.
Spread some Sunshine.
Spread Some Sunshine‘s mission is to bring happiness to children facing adversity both here in the UK and overseas. We believe that small gestures have big impacts and endeavour to spread smiles to children in hospitals, hospices, orphanages, safe houses and impoverished communities. We run multiple projects which include providing thousands of Christmases and birthday presents e
ach year for children who would not normally receive a gift, arranging fun days out to create positive memories for children who have faced trauma and organising in-house fun for children battling serious illness, such as circus performances, pantomimes and colour therapy workshops.
The Virgin Atlantic Foundation (Passport to Change).
Passport to Change is a year-long programme supporting a diversity of young people to careers in the aviation industry. This year, we will be delivering 5 fantastic events to Year 8/7th Grade students in the UK and US.
Our volunteer mentors support the events by representing the red, and showing our young people what it means to be a part of the Virgin Atlantic team. At each of our in-person events, students will complete a range of activities which contribute to their final project - designing their own airline. Having mentors there to offer ideas, advice and encouragement to the students is invaluable.
