Aim

To produce the entirety of H. G. Wells "The War of the Worlds" as never heard before - read by Richard Burton (AI).

We have all heard the sadly missed Richard Burton reading selected and edited part of "War of the Worlds" on Jeff Wayne's incomparable album.

I have long wished I could hear Richard Burton reading the entire novel. I am sure I am not alone in this.

Now, with the help of ElevenLabs, this could be made a reality.

I have already made quite a few videos of my own literary work, re-rendered using ElevenLabs, on my YouTube channnel and I am confident I have the experience and skills to pull this project off (See: https://www.youtube.com/@DoctorAlex1/featured particularly "The Doctor - Seasoned Twelve" playlist later videos).

However, ElevenLabs is not free, and so in order to produce this project more quickly I have opened this modest Crowdfunder project. I only wish to cover the Elevenlabs costs, which would be just under £100 - so modest indeed.

Any surplus will be plowed into further future projects, and used to pay for the spiraling costs of electricity - keeping the computers running.

All those who pledge above £5 support will be emailed the mp3 files for the project as soon as they are produced, before they are released as YouTube videos (you must provide the email address for delivery of the files).

The first twenty people to pledge £20 or more will receive (in addition to the reward for all greater than £5 supporters)  a free Audible Audiobook copy, either UK or US versions as specified by you when you make the pledge -if- the project is accepted by Audible for publication. This is by no means guaranteed, but if successful that will be the reward. They will also be added to a supporters thank you card at the end of each video in the YouTube series.

I hope you are all as excited as I am about this project.

Take care.

Alex Leithes.
