Help bring Wang Wang’s story to the UK through public advertising, raising awareness and calling for justice and animal protection.
Help Put Wang Wang's Story in the Heart of London
Wang Wang's story has touched people around the world.
Her image and her story have already travelled far beyond the place where her life ended, inspiring people in different countries to speak out, raise awareness and call for greater compassion and protection for animals.
But here in the UK, far too few people know her name.
We want to change that.
The Wang Wang Legacy UK is raising £3,000 to take the Justice for Wang Wang campaign out of social media and into the heart of London.
Our aim is to secure prominent public advertising — ideally a large billboard or digital display in a high-visibility London location — where thousands of people can see Wang Wang's face, learn her name and discover why her story has moved so many people around the world.
Why haven't we booked a billboard yet?
Because we want to use the money raised responsibly.
We are currently researching and comparing London advertising sites, locations and prices. We have already been offered advertising opportunities, but we do not want to spend supporters' money simply because a billboard is available.
We want Wang Wang to be seen.
That means finding the strongest location we can afford, with the greatest possible visibility and impact.
The amount raised will therefore determine the exact location, size and duration of the London campaign.
What happens if we don't reach £3,000?
This fundraiser will use Flexible Funding — Keep What You Raise.
That means the campaign can still move forward even if we don't reach the full £3,000 target.
If we raise less, the money will still be reserved for the Wang Wang public-awareness campaign. We will seek the strongest advertising opportunity the available funds can reasonably achieve. That could mean a smaller display, a shorter campaign, a different London location, or continuing to build the campaign fund until a worthwhile advertising opportunity can be secured.
We will not knowingly spend supporters' money on poor-value advertising simply for the sake of saying we have put up a billboard.
What will the money pay for?
Funds raised will be used for costs directly associated with bringing the campaign into public spaces, including advertising space, printing or digital production, preparation of campaign artwork and other necessary campaign costs.
The Wang Wang Legacy UK is a grassroots campaign and is not currently a registered charity.
We want to be completely open about that.
Our promise of transparency
If people trust us with their money, we believe they have a right to know what happened to it.
We will publish updates showing how the campaign develops and, once expenditure is made, receipts, invoices and other evidence of campaign spending will be made available so supporters can see where the money went.
Any personal, banking, contact or other sensitive information contained in those documents will be redacted for privacy and security, while the relevant supplier, purpose and amount of expenditure will remain clear wherever appropriate.
We will also share photographs or video of the finished advertising so supporters can see what their contributions made possible.
What if we raise more than £3,000?
If we are fortunate enough to exceed our target, additional funds will be used to extend and strengthen the Wang Wang awareness campaign — for example, through additional advertising locations, a longer display period or further public-awareness activity.
We will update supporters before making significant additional expenditure and continue to account openly for campaign spending.
Why does this matter?
Because Wang Wang should not become another story that briefly appeared on social media and then disappeared.
She was a living, feeling animal.
She was a mother.
And her puppies mattered too.
We want somebody walking through London who has never heard of Wang Wang to stop when they see her face and ask:
“Who was Wang Wang?”
That question is where awareness begins.
This campaign is about remembering Wang Wang and her puppies, but it is also about something much bigger — compassion, accountability and the protection of animals whose suffering would otherwise go unseen.
The world has already begun to hear Wang Wang's story.
Now we want London and the rest of the UK to hear it too.
Every contribution — whether £2, £5, £10 or more — brings us closer to putting her story in front of people who may otherwise never know it.
They could not speak.
We must be their voices.
For Wang Wang.
For her puppies.
For every animal whose suffering has gone unseen.
#JusticeforWang Wang.
