The Voice Project October 2016 to January 2018. A sequence of choral performances for the Voice Project Choir .
The Voice Project was created in 2008 by singers, composers and animateurs Sian Croose and Jonathan Baker, who have been leading innovative vocal projects in the UK for over 25 years. We have been a charity since 2009 and operate with very low overheads and a commitment to create inspiring, open-access projects that enhance the life of our community.
We keep our prices as low as possible and run on a combination of earned income from participant fees and ticket sales and fundraising from public sources and trusts and foundations. As you may know, financial support for organisations such as ours can be difficult to come by so we are launching this appeal to ensure that we can continue as an inclusive and creative project!
Thisis the next exciting project and we need your help to create it.
Between October 2016 and January 2018 we will be creating a sequence of pieces for the Voice Project Choir, exploring the themes of sleeping and waking – commissioning composers and poets and also working with sleep scientists and designers to help us create performances in inspiring surroundings, as well as with our talented production team to make world–class choral theatre.
As always, each performance project will be open to all with skilled vocal teaching , special workshops in movement skills and and a chance to work alongside great professional musicians. The projects are designed to be life-affirming and uplifting experiences for participants and audiences alike.
Your contribution to the project will help fund the following.
About the Voice Project
We create large-scale, open access, non-auditioned vocal performance projects bringing together outstanding musicians and community choirs in events that combine the ethos of community music with cutting edge creativity and high performance and production values.
Each Voice Project choir is created anew, with singers who are performing for the first time alongside those who have taken part in previous projects.
All our performances are of newly commissioned music and the choir members have an intensive and satisfying musical experience with top level vocal teaching that stretches the singers way beyond their expectations, from the taster sessions to the final performances.
